CLP’s COVID-19 Response

CLP wants to help…

During this critical time, CLP has taken the time to deeply evaluate both the needs of its customers and the welfare of its employees. We have reviewed both the March 19 order issued by the Governor of California and the Los Angeles County order issued that same day. CLP will be able to continue to operate under these orders as a supplier of packaging, shipping, and label products that are integral to the continuity of operations of business in the 16 critical infrastructure sectors identified by the U.S. Government.

That being said, we have taken and are taking the following steps to protect the health of our employees, to comply with all social distancing rules enacted by federal, state, and local bodies, and to continue to provide an acceptable level of service to our customers that are continuing their operations at this time.

  1. CLP is very working closely with its raw material providers to ascertain whether their production lead times will be or have been impacted, either by delays in Chinese raw materials or shortages of U.S. employees due to illness and/or shelter-at-home orders.

  2. In any cases where CLP’s raw material suppliers have been affected, CLP is working with them to procure raw materials sooner and in larger volumes.

  3. For customers who place Will Call orders, CLP is requesting that they choose another method due to the virus (i.e. CLP Truck for orders that qualify or UPS in all other cases). If these other options do not work of the customer, CLP is allowing Will Call with the following conditions.

    1. All Will Call orders must be picked up from the Will Call area in the Warehouse.

    2. Customers are not allowed to enter the offices.

    3. For orders requiring payment, customers must give the payment method (i.e. credit card, cash, check) to CLP Warehouse staff, who will be the liaison between the customer and CLP Customer Service.

  4. All product development meetings with customers are suspended. Developments can be conducted via phone and email. Physical samples will be shipped via mail.

  5. All on-site visits from suppliers are suspended.

  6. CLP drivers, warehouse staff, and field technicians are wearing gloves and masks when interacting with customers.

  7. CLP sales staff will temporally suspend on-site customer visits. Sales activities can continue to be conducted via phone and email.

  8. Inter-dept meetings are currently prohibited and interaction will be minimized in favor of group emails, chat, and conference calls.

  9. To decrease employee density in our offices, two thirds of CLP’s office staff are working from home. This applies to our Art Dept., Customer Service, and Purchasing.

  10. To increase social distancing in our Warehouse and Production dept’s, we will be using alternating shifts and increased workspace isolation.

  11. Any employee showing any signs of illness is required to stay home.

We encourage all of our trading partners and their families to be safe and stay positive. By working together, we will get through this crisis.
